Values

We value the richness and importance of history on the local level; informing the larger picture by illustrating how local events and worldview impact the larger picture, and how the larger picture is manifested in local events.

We seek to discover the meaning in the stories told by contemporary sources.

We endeavor to treat all sources of information with respect, understanding the multiple perspectives that can be brought to bear on any issue or event. Releases are used to clearly delineate what may or may not be done with interview materials. Restrictions requested by sources are honored.

With the permission of sources, materials are archived at appropriate venues in order to make them accessible to qualified researchers.
