Giving Voice To History and Preserving Treasures

Family heritage is a gift no one else can give.

Life On Our Own

 

In the fall of 2019, Oral History and Folklife Research collaborated with the Maine Developmental Development Council, interviewing individuals who had experienced institutionalization in Maine.  We talked to them about what life was like both inside and outside the institution, in the community, and developed podcasts from each of the interviews.  These are their stories.
